DIY Bread Crumbs - They're SUPER Easy

Need gluten free bread crumbs for a recipe at home? Did you know how easy it is to make them yourself? Never buy them again AND you can switch them up and season them to your liking!

INGREDIENTS:

Gluten free bread (that's it!! unless you want to add some salt, and maybe some herbs/spices like Italian seasoning)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. If your bread is not already stale, leave it out overnight to get stale. OR to shorten the time it takes, you can put the bread on a sheet tray and bake it in your oven at 325F for 10 minutes to dry it out.

  2. Pulse in a food processor until desired crumb . We like to make it fairly fine as we find it breads better. Larger chunks can cook unevenly.

  3. Add salt, to taste (1tsp'ish per half loaf)

  4. Add seasonings if desired. Though we like to leave them plain until we need them for a recipe, so you can season them for that particular recipe.

  5. Store in an air tight container until use. For longer storage, keep them in the fridge or freezer.

Looking for a food processor? We LOVE everything Kitchenaid. They are super high quality and last forever (I still have my stand mixer from 14+ years ago!). We have all 3 sizes for different uses, but if you're just starting out, the mini or mid are very versatile.
