DF/V Grimace Shake || aka a Blueberry Raspberry Vanilla Milkshake


After trying a McDonalds grimace shake recently (on our drive home from Toronto after the Gluten Free Garage), my kids had the WORST stomachache (and I didn't dare touch it), so we thought we'd make our own at home, sans tummy aches (dairy-free/vegan).

Here's what we used:

  • 1 cup organic frozen wild blueberries

  • 1/2c organic frozen red raspberries

  • 1/2c almond milk (or use another plant milk)

  • 3 scoops vanilla ice cream (we used So Delicious Coconut-Based Vanilla)

  • Gay Lea spray coconut whip cream (in the photo, this one used our homemade whipcream, piped in a piping bag with an icing star tip)

  • Pure Food Naturally Coloured Sprinkles (online)


Optional: I added 1/2tsp of blue spirulina and beet root powder to another batch we made, and it made it an even darker more-grimace-colour (with the bonus of superfoods too! This is the one in the photo above).
